Resume/Cover Letter
Grade 09
A resume is an itemized list of your qualifications, education, and experience that you may use when applying for a job or post-secondary training. There are many templates for resumes. Click here for an example of a resume. A cover letter follows business etiquette and accompanies a resume. This letter gives you the opportunity to help promote yourself for a position. Click here for an example of a cover letter.
- To complete this competency, you may upload your resume to your WOIS Portfolio. If you need to create one, click here. Be sure to include your paid or unpaid work experiences, hobbies, clubs, sports, and educational information. Your resume must be saved to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio as a “Resume” type.
Grade 10

- To complete this competency, you must save your resume and cover letter to your WOIS Portfolio. You may want to update your resume from Grade 9. Be sure to include your paid or unpaid work experiences, hobbies, clubs, sports, and educational information. Save your resume to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio as a “Resume” type. Save your cover letter under the “File Management” section as a “Cover Letter” type.
Grade 11 & 12

- A resume and cover letter should have been completed at the 10th grade. These documents should be in your WOIS Portfolio. You may want to update your resume and cover letter for future needs.
