Personal Education Plan (PEP)

Grade 07

The activity helps you match your interests with types of careers.

  1. Go to www.wois.org and log on with your school’s Site Key. Your CollegeEd teacher will provide the code.
  2. Click on "Assessments" on the left side of the page.
  3. Click on the “Tools, click on “Career Interest Areas.”
  4. While taking this survey of your preferences, quickly select the activity that you would prefer. Don’t spend much time thinking about it. Go with your first impression.
  5. When you finish answering all the questions, type your name in the box, then click on “Find my interest areas.”
  6. The next page should be titled "Career Interests for (your name)."
  7. Save the bar graph to your WOIS Portfolio by clicking on “Save results to my Portfolio.”  (You may have to Create a New Account.) After saving your results, click on “Return to your Career Interest Areas results page.”
  8. PRINT OUT THIS INFORMATION (it will be two pages).
  9. Find your highest score (longest set of red bars), and click on the title of interest area on the left side of the graph.
  10. On the "Occupations" page, click on a career path that interests you, and choose an occupation. If you don't find an occupation you are interested in within this interest areas, click "Return to results" and click the title of the next highest interest area.
  11. Once you find an occupation that interests you, click on its blue number.
  12. Near the top of the occupation's information page, click on the term "Educational Programs" in the second line of blue listings.
  13. Next, click on the Educational Program of your choice. (There may be only one.)
  14. Near the top of the Educational Program's page, click on “Select Topics to View,”  check “Schools,”  “Show Description,” and the “Add to Portfolio.” The data will be saved in the Career Research section of your WOIS Portfolio. You may either “Return to WOIS descriptions” or “Go to your Portfolio.”
Grade 08 -

The Personal Education Plan (PEP) is to help you plan the sequence of your classes through high school. It is a framework to help document your high school course work and your plans following graduation.

  • To complete this Grade 8 competency you must create or update your Personal Education Plan (PEP). If you have already created a PEP, go to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio and revise/update it. If you need to create one, click here.   Your PEP must be saved to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio as “Other,”  type in “High School and Beyond Plan.”
Grade 09

The Personal Education Plan (PEP) is to help you plan the sequence of your classes through high school. It is a framework to help document your high school course work and your plans following graduation.

  • To complete this Grade 9 competency you must create or update your Personal Education Plan (PEP). If you have already created a PEP, go to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio and revise/update it. If you need to create one, click here.  Your PEP must be saved to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio as “Other,”  type in “High School and Beyond Plan.”
Grade 10

  • To complete this Grade 11 competency you must create or update your Personal Education Plan (PEP). If you have already created a PEP, go to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio and revise/update it. If you need to create one, click here. Your PEP must be saved to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio as “Other,”  type in “High School and Beyond Plan.”
Grade 12

The Personal Education Plan (PEP) is to help you plan the sequence of your classes through high school. It is a framework to help document your high school course work and your plans following graduation.

  • To complete this Grade 12 competency you must finalize your Personal Education Plan (PEP). Make sure you identify up to three career choices you are considering and your post high school plan. If your plan includes schooling, list three schools you are considering. If you have already created a PEP, go to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio and revise/update it. If you need to create one, click here. Your PEP must be saved to the “File Management” section in your WOIS Portfolio as “Other,”  type in “High School and Beyond Plan.”
